Queen Beet Challenge

A new Sugar Beets' Virtual race series!

What You Need to Know..

  • The Queen Beet Challenge is NOW LIVE!

  • All results must be turned in by May 31st, 11:59pm.

  • There are (6) Stages, each listed below, that can be ridden in ANY order.

  • Race is open to ALL female-identifying cyclists interested in a FREE cycling challenge.

  • You may ride whatever bike you want, but be aware we strongly recommend a good mountain bike for the MTB and combo routes.

  • You may ride a stage multiple times, but once you turn in a timed result, that is your time, you may not change it.

  • Competitors must submit GPS proof of completion (Strava, Garmin file, etc). Email your results to, subject line: Queen Beet Stage XXX.  

  • PHOTOS!  We want photos!  Please submit at least 1 photo of you from before, during or after your ride with your GPS proof.  By submitting, you give us permission to post on our social media and website.  Please include your social media handles so we can tag you.

  • Obey all rules of the road, trail, social distancing, etc

  • Prizes?  Oh yeah, we've got them!  Our friends at Trek Bicycle Fort Collins-South have donated a huge stash, Borah Teamwear gravel kit, plus more sponsors TBA soon!

  • Results will be shared weekly.

  • Beets will be competing against themselves, but not for prizes.  Though we'll throw our times in for fun, you won't be competing against us.   

  • The legal stuff: Ride at your own risk. Sugar Beets Cycling Team, their sponsors or any affiliates assume NO liabilities for any injuries, mechanical issues or hardship related to this event.  By participating, you agree to this waiver and are responsible for your actions and the actions of others.  By participating, you also agree that Sugar Beets Cycling may post your time and photos on their website, Instagram and/or Facebook pages.

Competitors may reach out to Sugar Beets Cycling for the following:

  • Simple bike issues

  • Technical assistance: We can help set up Strava or Garmin, we have limited abilities with other formats, but will try to find someone who can help!

  • Any general questions

  • Ride buddy/route guide - Worried about getting lost?  We will find someone to help guide you, either in person, or with helpful tips for route uploads or cue sheets.

Not sure if you're up for the whole challenge?  Start with these three routes, then see if you can add some more!  Prizes will be awarded for top times over the following routes:

For Your Accomplishments..

Awards will be given in the following categories:

Queen Beet: 1st, 2nd & 3rd lowest cumulative times for all courses

Princess Beet: 1st, 2nd & 3rd lowest cumulative times for the mini-challenge

Oldest and youngest competitors

Best Photo

Gnarliest ride: Including, but not limited to, coldest, windiest, hottest....NO awards for muddiest.  Don't ride in the mud!
